Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 50+

Product: Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 50+
Rating: 4.5/5

Hi all, welcome to my space. Today – I would like to review about or should I say rave about my holy grail sunscreen, I love experimenting with new products and for a very long time I kept ignoring this particular brand. I don’t have a specific reason but guess I am always into more benefit less price version but nevertheless I am happy that I finally got a chance to use this product and this definitely deserves a good review and rating!

I am sure there are tons of reviews out there but I still wanted to share my point of view. The Product claims “Neutrogena Ultra Sheer Dry Touch Sunblock SPF 50+ (PA+++) is a breakthrough in sun protection. Stabilized with Helioplex, it provides superior balanced broad spectrum protection against skin ageing UVA and burning UVB rays and combines it with Dry Touch technology for an ultra-light, non-shiny finish. This light weight sunblock has a light fresh scent and is gentle enough for even sensitive skin.

I never liked the sticky feel and always covered my face with scarf which felt better but later noticed that whenever I was exposed to sun, I get tanned quickly and it took a lot of scrubbing and masks to remove the tan. So basically I tend to tan a lot and I just needed to get into the routine that would get save me from getting wrinkles and pigmentation. So after tons of review I decided to buy Neutrogena dry touch with SPF 50+ which cost Rs. 499 (2 years validity)

My first impression review – Initially I used to apply a lot and it definitely make me more oiler and sticky (I have extremely oily skin and at times my skin is reacts to certain products which also adds me to sensitive skin type) then later I just went with small amount like pea size and evenly massage it until its well absorbed, which at times is after using my toner or directly soon after I wash my face. Then all I do is apply a powder (keeping it simple and quick) and heavy duty kajal, that’s it.

After religiously using for a week, my skin was getting clearer and flawless. I do get oily on my T-zone but that’s not a big deal anymore. The consistency is white thick cream and it quickly gets absorbed and you got to give it sometime before you apply any moisturizer or foundation.

What I don’t like about this product is – it does make the skin release its natural oil, which doesn’t go by the claim – oil free. Secondly the ingredients has tons of chemicals which concerns a lot. I am almost done with the product which is big deal so looks like I will continue to use it until I find better alternative. I did shortlist few but still speculating on moving to new brand.

Here’s the list of ingredients – Water ( the only ingredient that I can understand), homosalate, ethylhexyl salicylate, benzophenone-3, octocrylene, butle methozydibenzoyl methane, silica, strene acrylates coplumer, potassium cetyl phosphate, beewax, glyceryl stearate, Pef-100 steratem cetyl dimethicone, caprylyl methicone, dimethicone, ethyhexylglycerin, behenyll alcohol, sodium polyacrylate, Xanthan gum, Dimethicone/Peg-10/15 crosspolymer, acrylates/C12-22 askly methacrylate copolymer, fragrance, disodium edta, ethylhexyl stearate, Bht, Trideceth-6, polyaminopropyl biguanide, methulisothiazolinone, dethylhexyl 2, 6-naphihalate.

I strongly recommend this to oily combination skin type and it really works for people like who gets tanned a lot. Just use as little (just right enough to cover / shield the face) and it saves your skin from harsh sun rays, and it improves the skin texture and it also evens out your skin without using tons of products which is the best of all.

I have been using it for last six months and cost wise its value for money!

Go for it! And here’s

My rating – 4.5/5 (it’s definitely not oil free)
